Recently, the YAST received the report from Yunnan Provincial Poverty Alleviation and Development Leading Group which published poverty alleviation assessment of 2018. After its assessment, YAST poverty alleviation work in 2018 was assessed as “good” (the highest order).

Since the beginning, the YAST has attached great importance to poverty alleviation work, and has placed poverty alleviation on the important agenda, incorporated it into the annual work plan, and dispatched competent personnel to carry out poverty alleviation work in the village. Combining with the scientific and technological advantages of our academy, we conducted in-depth research on poverty alleviation models and methods, and formulated a science and technology and industrial poverty alleviation project in line with local development. The two projects are “Improvement of Walnut High-Quality and High-Yield Cultivation and Management Integration Technology Research and Demonstration Promotion” and “Giant Grass Planting and Application Technology Demonstration”. The accumulated investment in the projects  is over 2 million yuan. At the same time, it strengthened the education of talents, enhanced the endogenous motivation of the masses, and mobilized the enthusiasm of the masses to make money.
