On August 15, 2019, YAST and Yunnan Kanglaideng Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd. signed an investment promotion cooperation agreement to jointly promote “Plateau-specific Indigenous Fish Industry” and “China Biodiversity Culture and Tourism Industry” Technology Demonstration Park. Dong Baotong, Director-General of Science and Technology Department of Yunnan Province, Hou Shuqian, President of the YAST, and Pan Wei, Chairman of Yunnan Kanglaideng Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd. attended the signing ceremony.

Dong Baotong, Director-General of the Department congratulated the two parties on signing the agreement. He pointed out that biodiversity conservation is our advantage. The multiple industrial integration of “Plateau-specific Indigenous Fish Industry” and “China Biodiversity Culture and Tourism Industry” will enjoy great development and is of great value in promoting the protection of biodiversity. We should support the development of the industry through science and technology. In the next step of implementation, we must actually do a concrete job of the project, make summary in time, and ask questions. We should give full play to the advantages of all parties in science and technology resources, channel resources, talents, technology and capital, adhere to the market-oriented operation mechanism, and cooperate with each other to ensure the smooth implementation of the project and the full transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Hou Shuqian, President of the YAST introduced the progress of investment promotion work of YAST since last year. Attracting technology investment is one of the important duties of our Academy. Since last year, through the construction of collaborative innovation mechanisms, the integration of innovative resources, the strengthening of service platforms, and the advancement of science and technology into the “four landings”, the investment promotion work has achieved remarkable results. This year's investment promotion will further emphasize the scientific and technological elements of the project, focus on the scientific and technological content of the project, and strengthen the project's support for the entire industry.

Pan Wei, Chairman of the Company said that Yunnan is a mountainous plateau with many rivers and lakes, rich fish resources and species, including nearly 600 species of indigenous species. In recent years, due to various reasons, the number of indigenous fish has decreased, and many species are on the verge of extinction. Accelerating the protection of indigenous fish is of great significance. We will adopt modern, new, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly recirculating aquaculture technologies, carry forward the aquatic industry, and innovate and develop new aquaculture species to protect China's fish resource diversity and biodiversity gene bank, and develop green and healthy aquatic products.

According to the agreement, YAST and Yunnan Kanglaideng will build a world-class “Green Food Brand” development strategy around the Province. The two sides will work together and complement each other, and carry out in-depth cooperation in project construction and transformation of scientific and technological achievements to jointly build “Plateau-specific Indigenous Fish Industry” and “China Biodiversity Culture and Tourism Industry” Technology Demonstration Park. The project is expected to have a total investment of 3.8 billion yuan. The construction period is five years. The construction content is “four bases and one zone construction”. It will build a plateau-specific indigenous fish standard breeding base, a plateau-specific ornamental fish breeding base, and a plateau-specific indigenous fish (six water systems) Biodiversity Science and Technology Exhibition Hall, Science Education and Teaching Experiment Base, Health Care, Health and Wellness and Leisure Base, and Plateau-specific Indigenous Fish Deep Processing Zone.
